About Tori
The voice families trust when it matters most.
The annual Tatler Schools Guide is the impartial arbiter of the UK's best prep and public schools. As the guide's Editor since 2018, Tori has unrivalled access and insider knowledge of the independent education sector. Every year, Tori and her team of researchers shortlist 300 establishments, travel 2000 miles to inspect them, carry out an estimated 873 hours of research, meet and interview hundreds of headteachers and registrars, and receive nearly 2,500 detailed questionnaires from schools, parents and pupils before making their final selection.
In conjunction with her role at Tatler, Tori also hosts regular talks on education and mental health. She is a trustee for the Anna Freud Centre, a leading children's charity dedicated to providing training and support for child mental health services. A committed advocate for neurodiverse children, Tori is an Ambassador for the charity, Made By Dyslexia. As a broadcast journalist, Tori has hosted a series of podcasts called Tatler Talks: Education; produced and presented a series of talks for Schroders Investment Bank on inherited wealth and its potential impact on young people and regularly contributes to newspaper and magazine features.
Her story
Before joining Tatler, Tori built her career as a Senior Broadcast Journalist and Producer at the BBC, where she developed a reputation for clear, authoritative storytelling on complex subjects. That instinct for getting to the heart of a story has never left her. Whether she is writing for The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Times, The Economist, or sitting across from a headteacher at a prep school in the Cotswolds, the question is always the same: what do families actually need to know?
That question led to her consultancy work. Parents began approaching her privately, wanting the same candid guidance she gave her readers. Today she works with a small number of families each year to help them navigate one of the most consequential decisions of their children's lives.

Tori is a Trustee and Co-Chair at the Anna Freud Centre, one of the UK's leading mental health charities for children and young people. She brings her editorial voice to advocacy, helping connect the worlds of education and wellbeing.

As an Ambassador for Made By Dyslexia, Tori champions a different kind of intelligence in schools. She believes the best education systems are the ones that see every child clearly.
